This exciting adaptive re-use project transformed a portion of an existing 200,000sf former office building into The Center for Discovery's "Children's Specialty Hospital," including a school for long-stay rehabilitation residents in their Skilled Nursing Facility.
The School component of this project has a variety of spaces to support various innovative program areas including a classroom wing, a full cafeteria with commercial kitchen and teaching kitchen, gymnasium and physical therapy spaces, lounges and other unique support spaces.
A vibrant color palette was developed to complement natural wood tone accents, adding interest to a neutral overall backdrop. An added degree of softness and interest is included in the customized special features like acoustical "trees," soft seating areas, and de-stressing zones for residents, students, and staff.
