This multi-phase project included renovations to a 3 story plus basement 35,000sf building originally constructed as a High School for a private boys military academy. The design converted it into a college library, student study spaces and Office of Student Academic Support. The project was completed in three phases over four summer construction periods.
A new circulation center, staff offices, and study spaces were created. Structural upgrades for supporting the stacks occurred as specific interior walls were eliminated to create open flexible spaces for student interaction. The library expanded between floors and a new floor opening was created for better access between floors, improving functionality and the visual impact of the space.
