The premier local public radio station, WAMC, acquired 1930’s neoclassical bank building to create a 200 seat musical performance and recording space that will be broadcast live on the radio. With a modest $1.3m budget, the program was achieved through careful additions and renovations. A new public vestibule / ticketing lobby was added, the historic banking floor was cleared and acoustically treated, and the vault was converted into the performers ‘Green Room’.
