We worked with the Albany County Airport Authority for four years providing design and construction management services for the $36 million parking improvements program at the airport. In association with TAMS Consultants, Inc. we designed the 1600 car parking structure, pedestrian collector and bridge system, 200 car rental car canopy, signage system, revenue control system, and surface lot reconstruction and reorientation. Subsequently we designed an 800 car addition to the parking structure.
The design of the structure utilizes a precast concrete structural system with brick detailing, to complement the airport terminal. Steel grillage supports ivy planting on the south facade and the pedestrian collector structure is enclosed by a ventilating glazing system.
This 1600 car structure was constructed in one year under eight prime contracts.
Our construction management services for this project included phasing, site staging, scheduling, prime contract coordination, cost control, site representation and quality assurance.
