The St. Peter's Hospital 4 + 4 Operating Rooms project added eight operating rooms to St.Peter’s Hospital in a 26,200 square foot suite. The project also included twenty four ambulatory surgery pre and post procedure beds and 12 post-anaesthesiology care beds (PACU). The operating rooms integrate sophisticated automation technology and surgical lighting, while working within a challenging floor to floor height of 12’-0”. Constructed in two phases, four operating rooms and 12 pre and post operation beds were operational in phase one, while adjacent programs were relocated and the balance of the suite was constructed. The location is adjacent to reception, waiting and a new patient intake suite, minimizing patient circulation.
